Journey in Grace Blog: The Luxury of Not Knowing What to Do!

Have you ever been overwhelmed with the responsibility of making a decision? It can be intimidating and cause paralysis to the point where you don’t make a decision at all. During these moments I know I have to be extremely aware of my actions and choices. I don’t want to make a decision with my emotions or based on past experiences. So I sit! If it takes three months for clarity to kick in and The Father downloads direction then so be it. I rather make a correct decision in slow motion than speed ahead of God and make the wrong decision. Wisdom prevents us from terrible decisions or tragedy!

I’ve been reading Proverbs since last year and when I say it helps me to find clarity in my decision making process, it really does! I avoided Proverbs in the past because this is one book of the bible that will chin check you. It will make you look at yourself in the mirror. For instance, I noticed the reason I couldn’t dwell in clarity is because I wasn’t consistent with my devotion.

There are times when I can sit in the word for two to three hours and feel full of the spirit because I didn’t rush or go through the motions just to say I had time with God. Other days I was so quick to leave His presence because life’s responsibilities were calling me. Truth is, devotion time is a down payment on clarity. The Father will reveal to you what you need to do through His word! I know this to be real. I’ve experienced it. If He wants you to really believe and hold onto to a specific word, that word will follow you! He wants you to depend on Him for the solution not the anxious thoughts that cause you to spiral.

The luxury of not knowing what to do causes us to submit and humble ourselves to our source, Jesus Christ. He is the answer for all things! This is an opportunity for you to see the super natural step in and do what you can’t. It’s a spiritual action movie specifically for you! Grab your popcorn, take a seat, and watch your Father rescue you from the bad guys or step in and save the day. There will be a great ending because He loves to be the super hero in His children’s life story!

Perspective is imperative when facing decisions that scare us. Remind yourself that you have the wisdom of God in your heart and His knowledge in your mind. He reveals the secret and hidden things which you do not know or cannot distinguish! As Christ is, so are you in this world. Before you open your mouth He hears you. Before you finish praying He has already answered. Be still and know. He is in your midst and you will not be moved.

Prayer:

WOW! Thank you Holy Spirit for speaking your word over us and reminding us that you enjoy getting the glory out of our circumstances by showing up for your names sake! You love us as daughters and you are not a dead beat Father! You have given us overflow in everything we need in Jesus Name Amen!

“God, sometimes I move without sitting with You first. Help me stay close—never too far ahead and never too far behind. When decisions come, remind me to lean on You, so that even in uncertain moments, I feel Your guidance leading me.”
